Summer Assignment

Arizona's Immigration Law

The Arizona immigration law will begin on July 29th. It has been extremely controversial, and on July 6, the federal government launched a lawsuit to have the law declared unconstitutional. For this assignment, you are to write an essay that examines the following:

• The Arizona law...what is its origin and intent, and how will it be practiced?
• The position of the Arizona government - how does it defend its position?
• The position of the U.S. governmen.t
• Why is the U.S. government suing Arizona?
• What are the constitutional issues here?
• Take a strong constitutional position that either supports Arizona or supports the US government.

This assignment should be at least 3 pages in length. Use the following format and rules:

• Single spaced
• Font: Times New Roman, 12 point
• Use MLA format to cite. Use normal citation rules.
• NO CONTRACTIONS!
• Write in the third person only!
