About the Library

The Nutley High School Library Media Center mission:

· Provide services to the entire school community

· Enhance teaching and learning

· Promote a love of reading

The Library endeavors to help students develop skills that will enable them to be independent and lifelong learners, able to adapt to changing modes of information access. The NHS Library contains over 25,000 volumes, 70 print periodical subscriptions, over 50 paid subscription databases, and access to over 1,000 eBook titles. The library serves 1,400 students and 100 faculty members. The facility seats 90 and includes 30 computer workstations, which access our on-line catalog and subscription databases. The staff includes one full-time librarian and two part-time library assistants.

Rules

Classes scheduled in the Library by teachers have priority on the computer workstations
Students coming to the Library from a class must come with a pass from their teacher and must sign into the library, noting date and time.
Computer and Internet use should be restricted to appropriate school-related projects.
